ACOPNE Launches Outstanding Practitioner in Coastal, Ocean, Port or Navigation Engineering Award and Service to the ACOPNE Award
The ACOPNE Board of Trustees approved the launch of the inaugural ACOPNE Outstanding Practitioner in Coastal, Ocean, Port or Navigation Engineering Award and Service to the ACOPNE Award at the fall business meeting on October 22 in Reston, Virginia.
The ACOPNE Outstanding Practitioner in Coastal, Ocean, Port or Navigation Engineering Award is established to recognize an ACOPNE Diplomate(s) who has demonstrated a significant contribution to the disciplines of coastal, ocean, port or navigation engineering through engineering practice. This award will be given annually to a Diplomate who has made a significant contribution through engineering practice based on either a single outstanding achievement or through a body of work related to the practice of coastal, ocean, port or navigation engineering. Nominees must be Diplomates in good standing of the Academy and registered professional engineers.
The Service to the ACOPNE Award is to recognize a Diplomate that exemplifies leadership and service to the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port and Navigation Engineers. This award is will be given annually to a Diplomate of ACOPNE (in good standing) who has demonstrated outstanding and extensive service or contributions to the Academy. Nominees must be a Diplomate (in good standing) or Distinguished Diplomate of ACOPNE.
The requirements for the nomination package for each award must include a nominating letter, an official nomination form, and at least two letters from Diplomates in good standing supporting the nomination. Sitting Board members are not eligible for the awards.
Nominations are now accepted for both awards and the deadline is January 31, 2019.
